Daily water intake calculator

Estimate a simple daily water target from body weight, in millilitres or fluid ounces.

2,450 ml

suggested daily starting point

General estimate only. Individual needs and health advice take priority.

How this estimate works

BonusBurn multiplies body weight by 35 millilitres per kilogram and rounds to the nearest 50 ml. This is a simple heuristic, not an EFSA recommendation. EFSA instead gives adequate total-water references of 2.0 litres for adult women and 2.5 litres for adult men, including water from drinks and food. Weather, exercise, illness, pregnancy and medical conditions can change needs substantially.

Common questions

Does coffee count toward fluid intake?

Most non-alcoholic drinks contribute fluid, although water remains a straightforward everyday choice.

Can drinking too much water be harmful?

Yes. Very high intake over a short period can be dangerous. Follow medical advice if you have kidney, heart or electrolyte concerns.
