Do not repay missed days
A double session does not repair a number. It makes the restart larger and harder than the habit that stopped. Begin with the smallest normal version of your routine, even if you feel capable of more.
Find the broken link
Ask what changed immediately before the gap: travel, illness, a new meeting, poor sleep, moved equipment, or a reminder that arrived at the wrong time. Fix that link instead of judging the whole routine.
Restart at the next available cue
Waiting for Monday gives the interruption more time to become normal. The next kettle, call ending, or ad break is enough. Thirty seconds today is a cleaner restart than a perfect plan for next week.
Keep the history, reset only the count
In BonusBurn, a broken streak starts the day counter again. Calories, XP, level, badges, records and completed history remain. That is deliberate: a streak describes recency, not your worth or total progress.
